A fair marketplace is built on trust — the confidence that consumers receive what they pay for, and that businesses compete with transparency and responsibility.
The latest market surveillance conducted by the Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (CCAA) in Chhukha and Samtse Dzongkhags found encouraging signs of improved compliance among businesses. Across 126 establishments inspected, fuel dispensing systems met accuracy standards, price transparency was largely maintained, and businesses demonstrated growing awareness of consumer protection obligations.
The findings also highlight areas for continued improvement, including product labelling, receipt issuance, and clearer refund and return practices. Through sustained engagement and monitoring, CCAA continues to work towards a marketplace that is fair, transparent, and responsive to consumer interests.
