CCAA Monthly – September 2026: Strengthening Consumer Protection and Market Transparency
The Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (CCAA) is pleased to present its September 2026 Monthly Report, highlighting key activities and developments in consumer protection, market surveillance, price transparency, outreach, research, and legislative reform.
During the month, CCAA handled 55 consumer complaints, resolved 39 cases, and facilitated refunds amounting to Nu. 31,939.51 to six consumers. The Authority also strengthened market surveillance through inspections of businesses in Punakha and Wangdue Phodrang, while continuing its efforts to improve access to market price information through the Monthly Price Watch (MPW) and Market Price Information (MPI) initiatives.
The September issue also highlights “Ask CCAA” Episode 4, which explains the status of Maximum Retail Price (MRP) on imported goods in Bhutan, as well as the submission of the draft Competition and Consumer Protection Bill to the Cabinet.
